Position Summary

Career Readiness Learning Objectives:

Critical Thinking- The student worker will gather and analyze literature and identify appropriate solutions to existing problems. The student worker is expected to summarize and interpret experimental data and prioritize action steps.

Communication- The student worker is expected to improve writing skills by drafting project reports and/or manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals. The student is also expected to attend workshops or conferences to present their results, further strengthening their communication skills.

Provide research and lab support in the Biomedical Engineering Department. The position is capped at 10 hours per week. The days and times required will vary based on project responsibilities and needs.

Required Qualifications

The position requires students majoring in biomedical engineering or biology, preferably juniors or seniors.

Preferred Qualifications

Biomedical engineering and biology students. Candidates must have completed introductory chemistry and biology courses and laboratories, as well as GU safety training. Candidates should have basic knowledge of tissue culture, programming, simulation tools, and 3D printing techniques.

Physical Demands

This position requires minimal physical demands, but applicants should be able to safely lift 50 pounds and sit and/or stand for extended periods.
