About this role
About Us
At Prenuvo, we are on a mission to flip the paradigm from reactive “sick-care” to proactive health care. Our award-winning whole body scan is fast (under 1 hour), safe (MRI has no ionizing radiation), and non-invasive (no contrast). Our unique integrated stack of optimized hardware, software, and increasingly AI, coupled with the patient-centric experience across our domestic and global clinics, have allowed us to lead the change against “we caught it too late again".
We’re looking for an independent contractor Biostatistician (5-months) to temporarily support designing studies, developing normative models, and producing the kind of rigorous, reproducible statistical work that can stand up to regulatory scrutiny, including on projects with a path to FDA submission.
At Prenuvo, our AI models help clinicians detect disease earlier than has ever been possible at scale, and the work you'd be doing here directly shapes how those models are validated, trusted, and adopted.
This hybrid role is based in Vancouver. We expect you to be technically credible enough to review model architectures, challenge assumptions, and roll up your sleeves when it matters. We also expect you to build a team environment where people do their best work.
What You’ll Do
-
Deliver priority sampling plans, validation datasets, statistical plans, and analyses on schedule.
-
Align sample size, endpoints, subgroup analyses, and model acceptance criteria before validation starts.
-
Keep every sampled or resampled dataset versioned, logged, reproducible, and traceable to its source cohort.
-
Validate and monitor normative models, including quantile crossing and sparse extreme groups.
-
Execute cohort design, sampling, and matched resampling from reproducible criteria.
-
Create study designs, including sample size, power, endpoints, analysis plans, and acceptance criteria.
-
Perform specialized model evaluation, including subgroup, lesion-level, correlation, and agreement analyses.
-
Inform normative-model development, providing insight for clinical alignment, validation, and monitoring.
-
Ensure dataset governance plus statistical analysis and methods/results writing for research.
-
What You’ll Bring
-
Master’s or Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related field.
-
Expertise in statistical methods for sample size calculation and power analysis.
-
Proficiency with statistical software such as R, SAS, or STATA.
-
Experience with diverse study designs, including clinical trials and observational studies.
-
Strong communication skills for explaining complex statistical concepts to non-statistical audiences.
-
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and adapt to evolving study requirements.
-
