Job Title: Biology / Geography Tutor

Location: Abuja (FCT)

The Biology/Geography Tutor is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, effective, and curriculum-aligned Biology and Geography lessons to secondary school students.
The Tutor will promote strong academic performance, critical thinking, scientific and geographical enquiry, and practical application of knowledge.
The successful candidate will create a positive and stimulating learning environment, monitor students' progress, provide appropriate academic support, and contribute to the overall academic and personal development of students
We are seeking a knowledgeable, patient, and engaging Biology/Geography Tutor to provide academic support and guidance to students in understanding key biological and geographyconcepts.
The tutor will help students improve their comprehension, develop effective study skills, and prepare for exams, assignments, and practical work.

Deliver engaging one-on-one or group tutoring sessions in Biology and Geography, tailored to the student’s academic level.
Explain complex scientific and geographical concepts in clear, relatable ways.
Assist students with homework, assignments, lab reports, map work, and project preparation.
Develop customized lesson plans, worksheets, and learning resources for both subjects.
Identify areas where students need improvement and design strategies to address them.
Prepare students for quizzes, tests, and examinations according to the curriculum.
Teach and reinforce key skills such as map reading, data interpretation, and scientific analysis.
Encourage critical thinking, curiosity, and independent learning habits.
Monitor and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to students and/or parents.
Stay updated on curriculum requirements, new teaching strategies, and subject developments.
Education / Experience
NCE in Biology/Geography
Bachelor of Education in Geography or Biology and IGCSE Certification.
A minimum of four to eight years of relevant teaching experience

Strong knowledge of Biology and Geography subject content.
Excellent teaching and classroom-management skills.
Ability to simplify complex concepts and make lessons engaging and practical.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Good written and spoken English.
Ability to use ICT and digital learning resources effectively.
Strong assessment and student-monitoring skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire secondary school students.
Good organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to differentiate instruction according to students' abilities and learning needs.
Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Creativity in developing teaching resources and learning activities.
Patience, empathy and a genuine interest in students' development.
High level of professionalism, integrity, reliability and commitment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving school environment.
