About the role

Join the Technology and Business Transformation team, in the Bilingual Senior Specialist, Software Engineering (.Net Developer) position, where the next generations of software applications are being developed to enable CMHC to achieve its mission. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of innovative software solutions. You will act as a point of contact for all stakeholders to ensure business requirements are understood and met, all while supporting continuous improvement through CMHC’s systems.

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate directly with the client community to understand their system needs, document current and future business processes, and guide them through proposed solutions and their implications.

  • Build cloud-native and .NET solutions, automate routine tasks, and optimize SQL and batch processes for performance and reliability.

  • Develop intuitive user interfaces with JavaScript and Angular, following the MVC architecture to ensure maintainability and scalability.

  • Translate ideas into action by authoring clear and comprehensive technical specifications and diagrams for both new and existing solutions.

  • Participate actively in testing, defect resolution, and deployment activities to ensure smooth delivery and high-quality outcomes.

  • Implement strong security measures, access controls, and compliance standards to protect applications and data. Stay current with Azure cloud innovations, best practices, and industry trends to continuously enhance system capabilities.

  • Design, build, and maintain secure, reusable CI/CD pipeline using Azure DevOPS.

  • What you should have

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field—or a combination of education and experience that proves you’re ready to lead.

  • A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience designing, building, testing, and deploying Azure cloud solutions that scale and perform.

  • Deep technical knowledge of C#.NET, ASP.NET, VB.NET, object-oriented programming principles, and MVC architecture.

  • Strong SQL skills, including relational database design, optimization, and performance tuning.

  • Experience with scripting languages like Python and PowerShell to automate and streamline tasks.

  • Experience designing and supporting REST APIs, enterprise integrations, messaging technologies, and middleware platforms.

  • Experience supporting business-critical production applications, incident management, root cause analysis, problem resolution, and DevOps practices including CI/CD pipeline design, deployment automation, infrastructure automation, and application observability.

  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, and modern software development practices, combined with a passion for continuous learning and delivering innovative solutions.

  • Bilingual (English and French).

  • Frontend: JavaScript, Angular.
  • Cloud & Frameworks: Microsoft Azure, IIS 6.0, Active Directory.
  • Tools & Platforms: Windows SharePoint Services, Lotus Notes, ServiceNow, SFTP.
  • Version Control & DevOps: VSTS, Git, Azure DevOps.

It would be great if you also had:

  • Experience with systems such as Wallstreet Suite, Swift, CRMS and ArcGis.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Additional experience with PowerShell/Python scripting automation.
  • Knowledge of advanced mainframe processes and legacy system modernization.
