About this role

The role prepares client-focused proposals, compiles bids in line with Invitation to Tender (ITT) requirements, and agreed submission deadlines. It also processes General Insurance renewals, new businesses, Policy adjustments and claims within established service-level timelines.

The role holder collaborates with relevant business units to obtain complete information, resolve processing issues, and deliver accurate, timely service to internal and external customers. Through these activities, the role supports sound risk assessment, regulatory compliance, and a positive customer experience.

These objectives will be achieved through effective:

  • Preparation, Documentation & Submission of Contracts/Bids and proposals within the stated submission deadlines
  • Following up with relevant departments for current statutory documents needed for bids
  • Processing of renewal policies (existing & revised)
  • Processing of new business policies
  • Processing of mid-term adjustments and endorsements
  • Preparation of coinsurance and return premium schedules
  • Reporting (Renewal) for Regulatory purposes
  • Risk assessment and examine insurance proposals
  • Analyze complex information provided by insurance applicants
  • Determine the risks associated with insuring the proposal
  • Determine the risk premiums and appropriate amounts of coverage
  • Research additional information on a risk before taking decision or recommendations
  • Carry out pre and post loss survey (Risk Management)
  • Preparation of quotation for general business on Turnquest
  • Analyze statistical data available in assessment of risk and make risks improvement recommendations.

Claim’s acknowledgement

  • Ensure that claims are promptly registered with adequate reserve.
  • Check whether claim notified occurred within policy period & no payment is outstanding.
  • Acknowledgement of claim by way of requesting substantiating documents which is to be achieved within 24 hours of notification.
  • Claim file passed to Risk Management Dept. for inspection when necessary.

Convey of offer

  • Preparation of settlement offer letter to the insured within SLAs.
  • Processing of discharge vouchers to be attached to the offer.
  • Ensuring that offer letters are dispatched on time either through e-mail or the Relationship Officers.

Payment Process

  • Processing of insured’s payment on Turn Quest upon receipt of executed discharge voucher
  • Processing Adjusters/engineers fees on Turn Quest.
  • Follow up on payment vouchers sent to Internal Control Department for verification and onward to Account Department.

  • Ensure timely registration and make adequate reserves for claims notified.
  • Complete documentation and ensure timely payment of claims.

  • Engage and improve service quality for Broker channels.
  • Effectively manage Internal & External Stakeholders queries and enquiries.

Ideal Job Specifications

Academic:

  • Bachelor's degree in insurance or related field
  • A professional qualification of ACIIN or its equivalent from other recognized professional Institutions.
