What You'll Do
- Attend orientation/enrollment sessions to understand BENEFLEX options and how to enroll.
- Review available medical, dental, vision, life insurance, income protection, and spending accounts.
- Make benefit selections and, if desired, arrange pre-tax payroll deductions for premium costs.
- Monitor benefit dollars and use Wellpoints to offset employee health insurance premiums or receive cashback if unused.
- Participate in the Wellness Program to earn Wellpoints through education sessions, health assessments, challenges, screenings, and related activities.
- Manage changes only during the group re-opening period each plan year or within the required timeframes following life events, job status changes, or loss of Medicaid/CHIP coverage.
What We're Looking For
- All full-time City employees and City-insured spouses are eligible for the wellness program; adult dependent coverage under ACA (ages 19-26) is addressed.
- Benefit selections are generally active the first of the month after hire; changes occur during defined periods or life events.
- Understand that some benefits are pre-tax via payroll deductions, with leftover benefit dollars treated as taxable income when not used.
- Willingness to participate in wellness activities and utilize online platforms for wellpoints and plan information.
