About the Role Ball Corporation is hiring for a Benefits Administrator focused on U.S. Retirement & Savings and Pension programs (401(k), defined benefit pension, deferred compensation). The role supports the administration, communication, implementation, and compliance of corporate-sponsored benefits, and collaborates with teams handling Health and Group Benefits. The position reports to the Manager, U.S. Benefits and aligns with Ball’s Total Rewards Center of Excellence strategy. What You'll Do
- Manage daily administration of Total Rewards programs with emphasis on U.S. Retirement & Savings and Pension plans (401(k), defined benefit pension, deferred compensation).
- Attend regular calls with external vendors; reconcile escalated issues and provide resolution to management, HR colleagues, employees and retirees until resolution is attained.
- Develop and deploy communication materials to present plans accurately; manage plan funding requests, billing/funding and related reports to Treasury/Finance; monitor expenditures and identify remediation for fluctuations.
- Reconcile plan expenses to the record keeper, trust and auditors.
- Coordinate with HRIS and payroll for data feeds, deductions, system setup, extracts, and reports.
- Review data transmission specifications and validation of error reports with suppliers/partners and internal stakeholders; update related process documentation.
- Enrollments coordination and testing; maintain plan documents; assist with IRS Form 5500, SARs, Summary Plan Descriptions; coordinate annual audits and data validation.
- Prepare materials for Ball’s governing committees; respond to union requests; compile reports; survey data; audits; reconciliations; and participate in project work as needed.
- Lead or participate in audits, reconciliation and reporting initiatives; be part of project teams; support acquisitions/divestitures, union negotiations, system changes and other initiatives.
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships within the department, division, company and vendors; manage stress and interactions to maintain a positive work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned; participate in special projects. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education/experience; 2-3 years minimum with specific expertise in U.S. Retirement & Savings and Pension programs.
- Knowledge of 401(k), defined benefit pension, and deferred compensation programs.
- Strong business knowledge of policies/procedures and the ability to interpret policy and process details.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to reference documented processes and escalate novel issues.
- Sound decision-making based on guidelines; ability to research and interpret unfamiliar situations and provide recommendations.
- Excellent organizational skills; detail-oriented; able to multi-task and work under high volume and interruptions.
- Effective communication skills (oral, written, listening); able to clearly provide information to stakeholders and employees.
- Ability to work with external vendors, HR, payroll, and across cross-functional teams; experience with data reporting and regulatory compliance. Nice to Have
- Experience supporting acquisitions/divestitures, union negotiations, or system changes.
- Familiarity with grand-fathered provisions of legacy plans.
- Project management experience or participation in cross-functional project teams. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $66,700 - $93,160 per year; final offer based on education, experience, knowledge, skills and market alignment.
- Eligible to participate in Ball’s annual incentive compensation plan.
