Aspire Living & Learning is hiring compassionate, dependable, and energetic Behavior Therapists to support children, adolescents, and young adults with developmental disabilities, including individuals on the autism spectrum.
This entry-level position provides hands-on experience in applied behavior analysis (ABA). No prior ABA experience is required. Aspire Living & Learning provides comprehensive on-the-job training, ongoing supervision, and support to help qualified employees pursue Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification.
Experience in customer service, sales, education, healthcare, business, human services, marketing, communications, maintenance, government, or another field may be valuable in this role.
About the Behavior Therapist Role
Behavior Therapists work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and/or special education teacher. You will implement individualized behavior support plans, education plans, and service agreements while helping clients develop communication, social, academic, motor, and daily living skills.
Clients may demonstrate mild to severe behavioral challenges, including aggressive or self-injurious behavior. The role requires patience, emotional maturity, physical fitness, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
Behavior Therapists may work in: Aspire Living & Learning clinics Public and private school settings Client homes, as assigned Community environments
Key Responsibilities
- Implement individualized behavior support plans using applied behavior analysis techniques
- Teach communication, social, motor, play, cognitive, and self-care skills
- Support clients with daily living and personal care routines
- Reduce challenging behaviors through approved intervention strategies
- Collect accurate data on behavior, progress, and skill development
- Follow written treatment plans, protocols, and safety procedures
- Use prompting, discrete trial teaching, and naturalistic learning techniques
- Apply prevention, redirection, and physical intervention procedures when necessary and properly trained
- Maintain focus and attention for extended periods
- Collaborate with behavior analysts, special education teachers, families, and other team members
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and ongoing supervision
- Adapt to daily schedule changes and changing client needs
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred; a combination of college coursework and relevant experience may be considered

Previous experience in ABA, education, healthcare, human services, behavioral health, or direct support is helpful but not required

Valid driver’s license

Proof of automobile insurance

Vehicle capable of transporting clients in the back seat

Ability to travel within approximately 45 minutes of Windsor, Vermont

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly pay: 19.22–25.43, based on education and experience working under a BCBA

Bachelor’s degree with no prior experience: 20.61 per hour

Guaranteed year-round schedule of 37.5 hours per week

Opportunities to work up to 40 hours per week, including meetings and training
