About the Role Mapfre's CERT team offers an internship in cybersecurity in Madrid, focusing on learning how security alerts are managed from detection to operation. You will work in a 100% collaborative, international environment and gain practical experience by handling real incidents and tools used in the field. What You'll Do
- Learn the lifecycle of a cybersecurity alert from definition to implementation and operation by the CERT.
- Collaborate in the analysis and investigation of cybersecurity alerts (primarily phishing and user-level alerts).
- Apply techniques and tools for mass data processing during the lifecycle of a security alert.
- Work with the following stack: Endpoint Detection & Response (Microsoft Defender for Endpoint), SIEM (Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk), Threat Intelligence tools (VirusTotal, Recorded Future, IntellX), dynamic malware analysis (VMRay Sandbox).
- Follow sector standards and references (NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, DETTECT, MaGMA). What We're Looking For
- Student or recent graduate with interest in developing professionally in cybersecurity, demonstrating technical curiosity, fast learning, and motivation for practical experience in alert analysis and management.
- Students of Computer Engineering (cybersecurity specialization) or Cybersecurity in final year (or pursuing a master's).
- English: minimum B2+
- Technical knowledge: Required: networking (OSI and TCP/IP), programming (Python) and scripting (Bash or PowerShell), Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Valorable: Windows/Linux hardening, traffic analysis, MITRE ATT&CK.
- Software/tools: Required: Office 365 Suite (Advanced Excel). Valorable: Wireshark, EDR.
- Capabilities valued: Curiosity, willingness to learn and teamwork; clear communication, proactivity, critical thinking, analytical skills; open mind and commitment to the program. Nice to Have
