Job title: Bartender - Foundation Room (House of Blues Houston)

About the Role The Foundation Room Bartender is responsible for serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and food to guests in a restaurant and music hall atmosphere with a cheerful attitude and in an efficient, professional manner.

What You'll Do

  • Welcome and acknowledge Foundation Room members, Live Nation Executives and VIPs to instill appreciation for their visit.
  • Take and fulfill drink and food orders, prepare beverages and serve food in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Upsell and offer food and drink suggestions to guests to enhance the guest experience.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of beverages, promotions, and menu items; ensure proper cash handling and point-of-sale accuracy.
  • Ensure safety and responsible alcohol service; handle intoxicated guests in a positive, safety-minded manner.
  • Collaborate with team to maintain clean, organized work areas and provide exceptional guest service during fast-paced shifts.
  • Be prepared to pass a pour test and a Mixology drill (timed) and work flexible hours, including late nights.
  • Maintain professional grooming and appearance standards.

What We're Looking For

  • Required: State or County Licensee or Certification Requirement; Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or Equivalent.
  • Required: Minimum of 2 years’ experience bartending in an upscale dining and nightlife establishment.
  • Required: Ability to up-sell and offer food and drink suggestions; articulate vocabulary and social adaptability.
  • Required: Exemplary grooming standards; flexible schedule and ability to work late hours.
  • Required: Cash handling experience; strong beverage knowledge.
  • Required: Physically able to pass a pour test and a Mixology drill (timed).
  • Required: Ability to deal with intoxicated guests in a positive and safety-minded manner.
  • Required: Skill in interpersonal communication and teamwork; tolerance of all cultures, music and art forms.
  • Preferred: 2 years’ work experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Preferred: Experience recognizing valid IDs.
  • Preferred: Experience in a live music environment.
