Job Description
We are seeking a skilled, friendly, and professional Bartender to join our hotel team. The Bartender will be responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, providing excellent customer service, maintaining a clean and organized bar area, and ensuring guests have an enjoyable experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve cocktails, mocktails, wines, beers, spirits, soft drinks, juices, and other beverages according to hotel standards.
- Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional, and efficient service.
- Take drink orders accurately and serve guests promptly.
- Recommend beverages based on guests' preferences when required.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper organization of the bar, counters, equipment, and storage areas.
- Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels of beverages, garnishes, glassware, and other bar supplies.
- Record and report stock usage, shortages, damages, and wastage to the appropriate supervisor.
- Handle cash, POS transactions, and other approved payment methods accurately.
- Follow hotel policies regarding responsible service of alcoholic beverages.
- Ensure all beverages are prepared consistently and presented professionally.
- Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.
- Assist with bar inventory and stock-taking as required.
- Maintain proper hygiene and food-safety standards at all times.
- Handle guest requests, complaints, and enquiries professionally and refer serious issues to the supervisor or manager.
- Work closely with the restaurant, kitchen, and other hotel departments to ensure smooth service.
- Follow all hotel safety, security, and operational procedures.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Bar Supervisor, Restaurant Manager, or Hotel Management.
Experience
- 5 - 10 years of experience as a Bartender, preferably in a hotel, restaurant, lounge, club, or similar hospitality establishment.
- Experience preparing a variety of cocktails and mocktails is an advantage.
- Experience using a POS system and handling cash transactions is an added advantage.
- Previous experience working in a busy hospitality environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of beverage service, bar operations, and stock control is desirable.
- Experience providing customer-focused service to hotel guests is an advantage.
