Pay and Hours for Job + Benefits: $17 p/hr, Part-Time, Full-Time, or Temporary
Job Description:
The Banquet Server is responsible for providing excellent food and beverage service during banquets, weddings, corporate meetings, conferences, and other special events. This position involves setting up event spaces, serving food and beverages, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring guests receive professional and courteous service.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up banquet rooms, tables, chairs, linens, silverware, glassware, and place settings according to event specifications.
- Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and professional manner.
- Follow established service standards and instructions from the banquet captain or supervisor.
- Assist with buffet service, plated dinners, cocktail receptions, and catered events.
- Refill beverages, clear dishes, and maintain clean and organized dining areas.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and communicate any concerns to the supervisor.
- Break down tables and event spaces after functions and return equipment to designated areas.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, bartenders, fellow servers, and event coordinators.
- Maintain a professional appearance and provide friendly customer service throughout each event.
Qualifications
- Previous food service, catering, hotel, or banquet experience preferred but not always required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry trays, tables, chairs, and other event equipment as required.
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and event-based schedules.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently bend, reach, and carry serving equipment.
- Lift and move items according to the physical requirements of the assignment.
Work Environment
Banquet servers work in hotels, conference centers, casinos, catering facilities, restaurants, and event venues. Schedules may vary based on event bookings and business needs.

- Arrive on time and ready to work.
- Maintain professional appearance and conduct.
- Deliver courteous, efficient, and accurate service.
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies.
- Complete setup and breakdown duties efficiently.
