Banquet Server - AM

21c Museum Hotels is seeking a Banquet Server - AM at the 21c Museum Hotel Durham in Durham, United States. This part-time, permanent role sits within the Food & Beverage team and supports a diverse range of events, from large group functions to smaller meetings, by delivering excellent service and representing the 21c brand with a positive, proactive attitude.

The Event Server reports to the Event Captain or Event Manager and must be flexible, dependable, and capable of stepping into different roles within the department as needed. The position emphasizes hands-on event execution, collaboration with team members, and consistent customer service to all guests, not only those attending events.

Responsibilities

• Execute event service hands-on while coordinating with B&C teammates
• Interact with Event Captains and Event Manager to ensure excellent event service
• Set up and tear down events per BEO, requirement sheet, and Event Captain instructions
• Provide outstanding customer service to all hotel/restaurant guests
• Take guest orders, serve food and drinks, and clear tables as needed
• Follow the service steps for each specific event
• Demonstrate knowledge of B&C procedures, terminology, and techniques
• Demonstrate knowledge of ingredients for all food and beverage items served for the function
• Know the hours, features, and services offered by 21c Museum Hotels
• Maintain a positive, proactive, and motivated attitude in all situations
• Work as part of a team for large events and independently for smaller meetings
• Report to work on time and be ready for the scheduled shift

Requirements

• Able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
• Responsible, dependable, and punctual
• Basic math skills and strong communication abilities; must be able to speak, read, and understand English
• Clean and professional appearance
• Demonstrates enthusiasm for 21c Museum Hotels
• Beverage knowledge, including spirits, beer, wine, with emphasis on Bourbon
• Must pass a background check
• Physical ability to carry a full cocktail tray comfortably and to stand and walk for long periods
