Banking Sales & Relationship Officer

Our client is seeking a competent, detail-oriented Banking Sales & Relationship Officer to join its team. The Banking Sales & Relationship Officer would be responsible for driving business growth through customer acquisition, deposit and cash mobilization, investment products, and fixed deposit placements. The role focuses on developing and maintaining customer relationships while achieving assigned sales and financial targets within stipulated timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mobilize deposits and new funds from existing and prospective customers.
  • Market the bank's savings, investment, fixed deposit, and other financial products.
  • Identify and pursue new business and customer acquisition opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Understand customers' financial needs and recommend suitable banking and investment products.
  • Promote fixed deposit placements and other investment opportunities.
  • Follow up with customers on investment renewals, maturities and additional fund placements.
  • Monitor individual sales and deposit mobilization targets and ensure they are achieved within set timelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer activities, deposits, investments, and sales performance.
  • Conduct regular customer visits and follow-ups to strengthen relationships and generate business.
  • Prepare sales/activity reports and provide updates on target achievement.
  • Collaborate with the operations and credit teams to ensure smooth processing of customer transactions.
  • Ensure all customer acquisition and sales activities comply with the bank's policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree / HND in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certification from the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) is an added advantage.
  • Experience in banking, microfinance, lending, financial services, or a similar industry is an advantage.
  • 2–5 years of experience in banking, financial services, sales, business development, relationship management, or deposit mobilization.
  • Experience in cash/deposit mobilization, fixed deposits, and investment products is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience working with and achieving sales or deposit mobilization targets.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies and irregularities.
  • Good report-writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
  • High level of integrity, objectivity, and professional ethics.

Salary

N250,000 - N300,000 / month.
