We are recruiting to fill the position below:

• Job Title: Bakery Manager
• Location: Benin, Edo

Role Purpose

• Run the bakery as a profitable, compliant and consistently high-quality operation, managing production, people, costs and regulatory standing, and working with the Bakery Marketer to match output to demand.

Key Responsibilities

• Production planning: Plan daily and weekly production against confirmed orders and forecasts; control yield, wastage and returns.

• Quality: Enforce approved recipes, specifications, weights and shelf-life standards.

• Regulatory compliance: Keep NAFDAC registration, labelling, hygiene and food-safety requirements current; close inspection findings on time; maintain audit-ready records.

• Materials and inventory: Manage ingredient and packaging requisitions, stock and counts; purchase only within approved limits via Group procurement.

• Cost and margin: Track cost per unit, gross margin and utilities; recommend pricing and product-mix changes.

• Equipment and facilities: Service ovens, mixers and equipment on schedule; keep the bakery clean and safe.

• People: Supervise bakers, production and packaging staff; set rosters; manage attendance, performance and discipline per Group HR policies.

• Sales alignment: Work with the Bakery Marketer on forecasts, lead times, new products and promotions.

• Reporting: Submit a weekly production, cost and compliance report; keep accurate production, stock and cash records; support Finance, Audit and GRC reviews.

• Key Performance Indicators

• Output against plan; yield, wastage and return rates.

• Gross margin and cost per unit against budget; stock accuracy.

• Product quality, complaints and on-time fulfilment.

• NAFDAC, hygiene and audit compliance; findings closed on time.

• Equipment uptime; staff attendance, discipline and performance.

• Qualifications & Competencies

• HND/B.Sc in Food Science and Technology, Food Engineering, Hospitality/Catering, Business Administration or related; 5–7 years' bakery or food production experience, including at least 2 years in supervision or management.

• Strong knowledge of baking, food safety and NAFDAC requirements; cost control and inventory management; proficient in Excel; leadership, integrity, attention to detail.

• Remuneration

• Monthly net N300,000 – N400,000, set within the band by qualifications and experience.
