About the Role
Mercury is growing its product engineering group and hiring backend and full-stack engineers to build next-generation fintech banking software. This role emphasizes product ownership, collaboration with designers and product leaders, and shipping lovable experiences in an autonomous, startup-in-a-startup environment. You’ll join a small but mighty team within one of Mercury’s product groups (Banking, Everyday Experiences, Expansion, Risk) and help shape Mercury’s future.
What You'll Do
- Own and contribute to backend or full-stack features on small/medium projects, actively shaping Mercury’s product roadmap.
- Work autonomously in a close-knit team with a startup-in-a-startup feel and ship usable, elegant software.
- Partner closely with designers and product leaders to deliver lovable banking experiences for startups.
- Collaborate across product groups (Banking, Everyday Experiences, Expansion, Risk) with pragmatic, product-minded engineers.
- Leverage learning of Haskell, React, TypeScript, and Redux; actively incorporate AI tools to accelerate development and improve code quality.
What We're Looking For
- 1-4 years of backend or full-stack development experience.
- Knowledge of or enthusiasm to learn Haskell, React, TypeScript, and Redux.
- Passion for building and shipping new products with empathy for users.
- Ability to balance tradeoffs and devise creative solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
- Interest in using AI tools to amplify impact.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary target ranges: US employees: $122,400 - $158,400 USD; Canadian employees: CAD 115,700 - 149,700.
