About the Role We are seeking a Backend Engineer to design and build scalable Java-based backend solutions. The role focuses on developing and managing databases, web servers, APIs, and other infrastructure components. This position is hybrid in Mexico City. What You'll Do
- Design, implement, and maintain backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and related frameworks.
- Build microservices, event-driven architectures, and hexagonal architectures.
- Manage databases, APIs, and infrastructure components; work with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Collaborate with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and ensure code quality with unit tests (Mockito).
- Implement security practices (OWASP, JWT/OAuth2) and perform security reviews.
- Work with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP). What We're Looking For
- Proficient in Java with Spring Boot; deep knowledge of Spring Security, Hibernate/JPA; RESTful APIs; SQL and NoSQL.
- Experience designing efficient backend solutions and building microservices; event-driven, hexagonal architecture.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes; CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitHub Actions); testing (JUnit, Mockito).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Understanding of security practices (OWASP) and authentication protocols (JWT/OAuth2).
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a hybrid/remote/mixed environment. Nice to Have
