Job title: AVP Technical Team Manager - Electrical, Hazardous Locations
About the Role The AVP Technical Team Manager will lead FM Approvals' technical staff to ensure rigorous examination and testing of electrical equipment for hazardous locations worldwide. The role delivers products and services responsive to FM and customer needs and supports risk service testing. It also identifies opportunities to grow the business while maintaining leadership and credibility in relevant technologies.
What You'll Do
- Lead and manage FM Approvals' technical staff to ensure effective examination and testing of electrical equipment for hazardous locations on a global basis.
- Ensure timely delivery of products and services that meet FM and customer needs; support risk service testing.
- Identify opportunities to grow the business while maintaining leadership, recognition, and credibility in relevant technologies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and interface with clients; travel approximately 5-10% domestically and overseas as needed.
What We're Looking For
- BS in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- 8 to 10+ years’ experience in electrical equipment for hazardous locations.
- Strong project management experience (personnel, tasks, budget, schedule) with familiarity with computerized tools.
- Demonstrated ability to manage technical teams.
- Familiarity with design/performance standards for electrical equipment in hazardous locations (FM Approvals, ANSI, IEC, EN, CSA) and installation standards (National Electrical Codes).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel 5-10% domestically and overseas.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: USD 138,000 - 198,000 per year.
