Job title: AVP II, Data Platforms
About the Role Lead the data technologies platforms with a primary focus on Snowflake, guiding a team of data engineers and/or acting as a principal data engineer. Drive the lifecycle of data solutions, align with business goals, and deliver high-quality work through best practices and collaboration with architects and senior engineers.
What You'll Do
- Lead a team of data engineers/managers or work in an individual capacity as a principal data engineer
- Provide direction in the lifecycle of the solution and manage complex programs with business impact
- Implement data projects according to line of business and/or function data strategy and road map
- Work closely with architects and senior engineers to develop the best possible technical design and approach that meets business goals
- Instill best practices for software development and documentation, assure designs meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules
- Project management: prioritization, planning of projects and features, stakeholder management and tracking of external commitments
- Support the sharing of knowledge and best practices across the enterprise
- Hire and retain world-class talent to deliver data platform projects
- Develop and nurture a team of senior data engineers and/or managers
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 10 years of experience
- Bachelor's degree is required
- Expertise in Snowflake management, internals, billing, query tuning
- Experience as a Cortex user for query planning and semantic layer
- Excellent communication skills for company-wide communication
Nice to Have
- Insurance domain experience
Compensation & Benefits
- For Jersey City, NJ base salary range is $173,000-$217,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan
