Job title: Avionics Systems / Engineering Sr Professional
About the Role Senior Avionics Systems/Engineering professional responsible for the development, testing, certification, production, and in-service support of avionics systems for state-of-the-art business aircraft. The role focuses on defining system requirements, ensuring safety and certification, and overseeing integration, verification, and supplier deliverables across multiple avionics subsystems.
What You'll Do
- Define and manage overall system and subsystems requirements to ensure safety, certification & aircraft design objectives are met
- Collaborate with system suppliers and interfacing disciplines to ensure the system is properly designed to integrate smoothly on the aircraft
- Lead or participate in timely integration of systems (AFCS, Communications: VHF, HF, SATCOM, Datalink; Navigation: ADF, VOR, ILS, DME, TCAS, Transponder, IRS, GPS, FMS, Weather Radar), Displays (EFIS, EICAS, HUD, SVS), Information/Maintenance & Recording (IMS, OMS, Data load, CVR, FDR, AHMS), Cabin connectivity on the aircraft
- Write, conduct or witness development and certification tests on the aircraft and/or rigs; review, analyze and approve the test results
- Conduct and support ARP4754 system and aircraft verification and validations
- Manage, review and approve the deliverables of the Avionics System Suppliers; liaise with Certifying Authorities and/or support their delegates in achieving system certification
- Support the Final Assembly Line and In Service Aircrafts for any design related issues and bring them to closure
- Participate in the development and implementation of tools and processes as needed by the function to meet our organizational objectives
- Participate in the development and implementation of software for customization of crew alerting logic
What We're Looking For
- Experience in avionics systems development, testing, certification, production, and in-service support
- Ability to define/manage system and subsystem requirements to meet safety, certification and aircraft design objectives, and to integrate subsystems on the aircraft
- Hands-on experience with AFCS, Communications (VHF, HF, SATCOM, Datalink), Navigation (ADF, VOR, ILS, DME, TCAS, Transponder, IRS, GPS, FMS, Weather Radar), Displays (EFIS, EICAS, HUD, SVS), IMS/OMS/Data load/CVR/FDR/AHMS, Cabin connectivity
- Experience writing, conducting or witnessing development and certification tests; ability to review, analyze and approve test results
- Knowledge of ARP4754 system and aircraft verification and validations
- Supplier management including delivering and approving supplier work products and liaising with certifying authorities
- Ability to support Final Assembly Line and in-service aircraft issues and drive closure
- Experience developing and implementing tools/processes and software for crew alerting logic customization
