About this role
Our client is a confidential organization in the Aviation & Aerospace industry working on advanced airborne systems where reliability, technical rigor, and certification readiness are essential. This is an opportunity to contribute to navigation and avionics programs that demand strong systems thinking, close cross-functional collaboration, and a deep understanding of performance and safety in complex operating environments.
As an Avionics Systems Engineer, you will play a central role in shaping navigation capabilities for airborne platforms, helping translate demanding technical and regulatory expectations into robust system solutions. You will work across engineering disciplines and partner with stakeholders involved in verification, certification, and flight activities to support programs from development through validation.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, integrate, and validate GPS/GNSS-based navigation solutions for airborne systems.
- Develop navigation algorithms using GPS/GNSS, INS, AHRS, IMU, air data, radio-navigation sensors, and sensor-fusion techniques.
- Develop, decompose, trace, and verify system requirements; support integrated avionics and navigation architecture development.
- Analyze navigation performance, integrity, continuity, availability, and accuracy, including behavior under RF jamming and spoofing.
- Create and execute system-level test plans and procedures across laboratory, simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, and flight-test environments, and prepare verification reports.
- Integrate navigation solutions with FMS, MMR, terrain-awareness, and autopilot/flight-director systems.
- Conduct failure-mode analyses, safety assessments, and fault-tree analyses.
- Review customer and regulatory requirements; collaborate across software, hardware, systems, verification, certification, and flight-test teams.
- Support FAA, EASA, and military certification activities, technical design reviews, and customer presentations.
