Job title: Aviation Sales Manager
About the Role The Aviation Sales Manager will drive the aviation sales strategy and profitability for Puma Energy South Africa. You will manage customer relationships, forecast sales, lead sourcing, pricing, and contract administration while coordinating with marketing and business development to grow market share in a competitive environment.
What You'll Do
- Achieve set financial objectives: sales volume, margin, day sales outstanding, return on assets under management
- Engage with customers: qualify sales opportunities, manage opportunity pursuit, conduct account planning, select and manage key accounts
- Manage sales operations: forecast sales, sales budget, sales communication and marketing events, facilitate sales process, organise sales collateral and tools, manage CRM, enforce legal compliance
- Partner with marketing and business development: customers, lead sourcing and develop value propositions and commercial messages and events
- Manage sales talent: build sales climate, source sales talent, facilitate on-boarding of new talent, develop training, support coaching outcomes
- Customer and company profitability for defined area: input on annual budgeting process and ensure sales budgets for Aviation are achieved; nurture and manage customer relationships; improve forecasting accuracy; manage pricing, rebates and discount levels; manage GMVE per customer; manage customer credit and service delivery; conduct variance analysis per customer; profile and segment customers; manage key accounts; manage contracts and administration
- Commercial strategy for the area: participate in developing sales strategies and new business models; develop new business opportunities; implement and execute promotions and marketing strategies to meet objectives; collect market intelligence and monitor competitors and pricing strategies
- Investment projects for the area: investigate opportunities for new business development in the Aviation segment
- People: promote a positive working environment and effective people management
- Health Safety Environment and Quality: adhere to HSEQ standards and regulatory requirements, minimize risk to assets and life
- Context and Environment: manage Aviation strategy and sales in a competitive marketing environment
- Accountability: provide financial and operational solutions to increase market share and profitability for Puma Energy South Africa
What We're Looking For
- Appropriate degree/diploma in sales/business management or administration; or Matric with 6–8 years of marketing and sales management experience in the oil industry or a comparable sector; or 4–6 years with a relevant degree
- Experience analyzing and interpreting financial statements/results
- Strong interaction with employees and customers; excellent sales management, negotiation, conflict resolution, analytical and presentation skills
- Good knowledge of business and legal basics; understanding of the commercial environment in Africa
- Familiarity with Puma Energy compliance requirements and Petroleum industry regulatory framework is advantageous

- Experience in the oil industry
