Automation Engineer

About the Role The role is to design, program, simulate and test the automation product or process to achieve the efficiency and effectiveness required. This role emphasizes understanding software requirements, architecture, and developing automated solutions that can be reused across technology stacks. What You'll Do

• Design, program, simulate and test automation products/processes; gather requirements, analyze current technology architecture and dependencies, and formulate project plans for approval.
• Develop and maintain the automation framework; build reusable libraries across business lines; design test plans, test cases, and scenarios; execute tests and validate functional and non-functional requirements.
• Design and execute software development and reporting; create technical specifications; participate in design activities; implement, track and report metrics; manage defects and resolutions; develop automated testing tools and programs aligned with Wipro standards.
• Ensure smooth communication with customers and internal stakeholders; work with Agile delivery teams; create acceptance criteria for user stories; develop/test automation backlog; collaborate to improve continuous deployment practices; document projects per Wipro guidelines; maintain system maintainability and up-to-date industry practices.
• Stay current with industry standards; back-end/database programming for key projects; document and reference best practices; ensure long-term maintainability and accuracy of automation solutions. What We're Looking For
• Strong experience in designing and implementing test automation, automation frameworks, and reusable libraries across technology stacks.
• Proficiency in Agile environments; ability to develop robust, scalable, high-quality automated tests for functional, regression, and performance testing; create acceptance criteria; manage automation backlog; support CD processes.
• Ability to collaborate with SMEs and developers to gather requirements, then design, build and deploy automation solutions; excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience with backend/database programming and data validation; ability to research and resolve problems using available resources.
• Commitment to documenting projects according to guidelines; staying up-to-date with industry standards. Nice to Have
• Experience building reusable automation libraries across verticals; maintaining and improving automation frameworks across technology stacks.
• Knowledge of performance testing and continuous deployment practices.
