Automation Engineer

About the Role The Automation Engineer will join the HAIFA project in Haifa, Israel, to design, validate, test and engineer Automation Systems, coordinating with project team specialists and ensuring QA/QC and HSE compliance throughout the project lifecycle. What You'll Do

• Perform project technical tasks assigned by the Project Discipline Lead / Automation Lead, including design, checking, validation, testing and engineering of Automation Systems.
• Interface and coordinate with other Project Team Specialists and Designers.
• Coordinate technical activities performed either by insourcing or outsourcing.
• Execute activities within own Automation area of responsibility, ensuring the compliance with QA/QC and HSE requirements.
• Develop Automation and Advanced Control Systems concepts during Development, Feasibility, and Bidding phases; prepare Automation quantities for cost and erection estimates; support man hours and cost estimates.
• Review Client technical documentation and requirements.
• Coordinate subcontracted engineering activities and control subcontracted engineering documents.
• Define engineering design basis and guidelines; prepare the technical documentation for Automation and Advanced Control Systems material and services requisitions and, according to internal procedures, the technical evaluations.
• Provide technical support to the Project Team; optimize Automation and Advanced Control Systems design to minimize cost and complexity in compliance with contractual and safety requirements.
• Prepare Automation and Advanced Control Systems supply specifications; participate in P&ID mechanization; validate Vendor Automation and Advanced Control Systems functional design specifications and participate in detail configuration documents definition; validate Vendor BOQs.
• Coordinate detail engineering activities and ensure proper installation drawings definition.
• Participate in FAT activities and vendor workshops; Site Acceptance Test, loop checks. What We're Looking For
• Experience in design, validation and commissioning of Automation and Advanced Control Systems.
• Ability to review client technical documentation and requirements; coordinate with internal teams and external subcontractors.
• Knowledge of QA/QC and HSE requirements within engineering projects.
• Ability to define engineering design basis and guidelines and to prepare technical documentation and vendor evaluations.
• Capability to optimize control system design for cost and simplicity while meeting contractual and safety requirements.
• Familiarity with P&ID mechanization, vendor FDS/BOQ validation, and installation drawings coordination.
• Strong communication and coordination skills to work across project teams.
• Availability for a September 2026 start and a 3-month contract. Nice to Have
