Job title: Automation Engineer
About the Role As a member of the Automation team, the Automation Engineer will lead, support, implement, and manage automation projects and robot cells across North America. The role involves developing concepts, assisting with mechanical and electrical design, installing and training plant staff, and providing ongoing support, while serving as a subject matter expert to guide other integrators.
What You'll Do
- Lead, support, implement, and manage automation projects and robot cells across North America, driving standards.
- Develop concepts and assist with mechanical-electrical design; install, train receiving plants, and provide ongoing support for robot cells.
- Project lead other integrators as a subject matter expert, coordinating large projects and coaching lower-level professionals.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or software engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Expertise in RS Logix 500, RS Logix 5000, FactoryTalk HMI, Baluff IO-Link, and programming.
- Fanuc programming or basic understanding of robotics.
- Knowledge of safety standards: OSHA 1910, machine guarding, ANSI/RIA 15.06, automated vehicles, conveyor safety.
- AutoCAD and experience with Ignition or other SCADA software.
- Ability to read electrical drawings; experience coordinating and managing control systems.
- Experience communicating with external manufacturing systems/MES.
- Atlas Copco Tools Talk programming and interfaces with torque tools.
- Experience with servo-driven equipment.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% in North America.
- Basic experience with vision systems.
- Knowledge of automation risk assessments.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Certifications/Licenses (not specified in posting).
