Job title: Automation Engineer - CIM Systems

About the Role Skyworks is seeking an Automation Engineer to drive automation transformation, quality improvement, and support our mission as a best-in-class filter manufacturer. You will implement CIM systems comprising in-house developed and off-the-shelf products on the production floor, and work closely with production, equipment engineering, and IT to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.

What You'll Do

  • Drive automation transformation activities and quality improvements across manufacturing operations.
  • Implement CIM systems on the production floor, evaluating, testing, and implementing in-house and off-the-shelf solutions.
  • Collaborate with production, equipment engineering, and IT to troubleshoot and resolve production systems issues.
  • Define sustenance and scaling plans to support manufacturing operations and achieve KPIs.
  • Engage with production and engineering teams to implement CIM systems and meet implementation targets.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, provide corrective actions and preventive solutions.
  • Identify system enhancements, propose improvement plans, and implement changes in the production environment.
  • Provide briefing, guidance, and training to engineering teams to drive adoption and day-to-day usage of CIM systems.
  • Create and document best practices for end users of automation systems.
  • Manage assets under the automation team’s responsibility and demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience with SECS/GEM based Equipment Automation
  • Experience with EI platforms for equipment automation (e.g., Eyelit, Systema)
  • Experience in Business Intelligence tools (Power BI and Tableau)
  • Knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL and experience with SQL Server and Oracle
  • Experience with Java, Python, or C#
  • Fast learner with minimum supervision
  • Good communication and documentation skills
  • Strong and systemic problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Team player and able to work independently
  • Solid understanding of PROMIS terminology and data structure
  • Experience implementing Message Broker and integrating external sensors to systems
  • PLC programming with Mitsubishi GX Works2 and Omron
  • Experience with R2R, preferably ONTO
  • Experience in Inficon FabGuard
