In this role you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing advanced automation solutions that support Autoliv’s manufacturing operations. As an Automation Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional engineering and production teams to program, implement, and maintain high-performance automated systems, leveraging cutting-edge robotics, controls, and industrial technologies to drive efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement.
Should you be interested in overseeing these tasks and aiming for enhanced performance standards, your role will involve:
- Design, develop, and implement automation solutions, including PLCs, robotics, HMIs, and motion control systems, to support efficient and reliable manufacturing operations.
- Program, integrate, and optimize industrial robots and automated equipment to enhance productivity, quality, and process performance.
- Troubleshoot and improve machine control systems, identifying and resolving issues to maximize equipment uptime, safety, and manufacturing throughput.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to establish automation standards, ensure compliance, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Integrate advanced technologies such as vision systems, industrial networks, sensors, and Industry 4.0 tools to enable intelligent automation and data-driven manufacturing processes.
If you have/are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automation, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Previous experience in the automotive industry or other highly regulated manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Strong understanding of industrial automation systems and the ability to work effectively in a hands-on production environment.
- Availability to support off-shift production activities, equipment troubleshooting, and critical manufacturing issues as needed.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for training, equipment implementation, and technical support, with flexibility to work extended hours during launches or key projects.
