About the Role Zurich North America Claims is hiring an Auto Litigation Claims Specialist to support auto litigated claims. This role reports to the Auto Claims Handling Manager and offers the Zurich North America hybrid work model with flexibility to work from any US office and occasional in-office attendance, with locations in Atlanta, GA; Schaumburg, IL; Addison, TX; or Omaha, NE.
What You'll Do
- Work closely with attorneys internally and externally; partner with attorneys on complex claims cases.
- Manage the claims process for auto litigated claims; document and update claims data in compliance with best practices for low to moderate exposure and complexity personal or commercial line claims.
- Exercise judgment to determine liability by gathering and analyzing relevant facts; applying applicable law; establishing basic principles of negligence.
- Determine policy verification and coverage by analyzing applicable coverage and determining whether the loss falls within the coverage.
- Develop case strategy and case evaluation; escalate issues as appropriate; aim for timely resolution of claims.
- Establish timely reserves and perform ongoing review throughout the claims cycle within authority limits by estimating and validating the value of claims.
- Assess damages by calculating applicable damages or ranges allowed by law.
- Negotiate settlements by establishing appropriate negotiation strategy and utilizing available tools and resources within authority limits.
- Meet quality standards by following best practices; ensure customer service by proactively communicating information, responding to inquiries, following customer protocols, and may participate in customer marketing efforts.
- Ensure legal compliance by following state and federal laws and regulations and internal control requirements.
- Refer claims to subrogation and fraud teams by identifying potential subrogation and fraud.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Claims or Insurance area OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including an Associate Degree and 3 or more years of experience in Claims or Insurance area OR Completion of Zurich Claims Training Program.
