About the Role Caterpillar is offering a 3.5-year apprenticeship as a Mechatronics Technician (m/w/d) at the Mannheim site, starting September 2027. You will learn to work on mechanical and electronic components, program mechatronic systems, and handle commissioning, maintenance and operation of mechatronic systems. The training takes place at the Mannheim location in the company training center, where you will gain fundamentals in metalworking, electrical engineering, hydraulics and pneumatics. After successful completion, you will work independently or in a team in the assembly and maintenance of complex machines, plants and systems.

What You'll Do

• Bearbeitung, Montage und Prüfung mechanischer und elektronischer Komponenten
• Programmierung mechatronischer Systeme
• Inbetriebnahme, Instandhaltung und Bedienung mechatronischer Systeme
• During training you will receive fundamentals in metalworking, electrical engineering, hydraulics and pneumatics at the firm’s training center
• Your apprenticeship takes place at Mannheim, with a focus on hands-on learning and eventual independent or team work in assembly and maintenance

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Minimum Pay: 14.204,00 € (noting that salary is one component of total compensation)
• Attractive apprenticeship pay under the tariff of the metal & electrical industry, with over €1,300 in the first year plus holiday and Christmas bonuses
