• Serve as the Public Address (PA) announcer for Sacred Heart University athletic events. Student PA Announcers are responsible for delivering clear, accurate and engaging announcements throughout games while maintaining a professional and energetic atmosphere.

• Must be available nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Announce starting lineups, player substitutions, scoring plays, penalties and other in-game information.

• Read promotional messages, sponsorships, public service announcements and game scripts.

• Maintain an enthusiastic and professional tone appropriate for each event.

• Work closely with athletic communications and marketing staff.

• Arrive on time, prepared and familiar with event scripts, rosters and pronunciation of names.

• Follow all NCAA, conference and Sacred Heart University policies and procedures.

• Strong public speaking and communication skills.

• Comfortable speaking clearly and confidently in front of large crowds.

• Prior announcing, broadcasting or public speaking experience is preferred but not required.

• Expected Hours

• 6-8 hours per week
