About this role
The Assistant Manager - SQE at Nexteer Automotive Corporation, based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, leads the supplier quality engineering team to drive continuous improvement and ensure that incoming raw materials and parts meet strict company and industry standards. This role connects manufacturing, product development, and external vendors to uphold quality across the supply chain.
Responsibilities
- Supplier Management: monitor supplier performance, conduct vendor audits, and review Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR).
- New Product Support: participate in new product development and complete joint Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) evaluations.
- Team Leadership: train, mentor, and organize SQE staff to optimize material quality assurance.
- Process Improvement: develop process norms for vendor verification and enhance the technical capabilities of suppliers.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years in supplier quality, manufacturing, or quality engineering, including supervisory experience.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of quality tools (PPAP, APQP, FMEA), auditing, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication.
