Associate Women’s Basketball Coach

About the Role The Associate Women’s Basketball Coach at Long Island University will be responsible for the development and supervision of the student-athletes in the women’s basketball program, in alignment with NCAA Division I, NEC and University policies. What You'll Do

• Recruit student-athletes in accordance with NCAA regulations and academic standards, and assist with scheduling and coordinating practices and workouts for both in-season and out-of-season periods.
• Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and collaborate with Athletics Student Services, Compliance, and Sports Medicine.
• Develop game plans, scouting reports, and assist with competition strategy and event-day coaching.
• Manage budget responsibilities related to recruitment, travel, and equipment; coordinate with the Strength and Conditioning staff; support marketing and fundraising activities; and perform program administration.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, faculty, staff, media, and community partners; participate in public speaking and community events to promote the program.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and Sport Supervisor. What We're Looking For
• Bachelor’s degree required; at least three years of Division I collegiate women’s basketball coaching experience, or equivalent coaching/playing/background.
• Proven ability to recruit highly skilled student-athletes and support their academic progress.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; strong knowledge of NCAA Division I rules and regulations.
• Ability to work with a diverse student body and collaborate with multiple departments.
• Demonstrated on-court coaching ability, planning, and execution. Nice to Have
• Enthusiasm for working with individual athletes, strong basketball background, and solid work-ethic; comfortable with NCAA rules and compliance expectations.
• Strong computer skills and willingness to engage in fundraising and marketing activities. Compensation & Benefits
• Salary range: $60,000 - $65,000 per year. Exempt position under FLSA.
