Job title: Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management
About the Role Senior leadership role responsible for the strategic direction and operational management of enrollment management units (Admissions, Registration, Penguin Service Center, and Financial Aid) at Youngstown State University. Provides vision, coordination, budgeting, data analysis, and policy development to support enrollment, retention, and student success.
What You'll Do
- Provide strategic direction and leadership for the university's enrollment management units (Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, and Penguin Service Center) in alignment with the university's strategic plan.
- Oversee daily operations of assigned units, ensure effective service delivery, and supervise staff, including hiring, performance management, and leave administration.
- Develop and implement unit policies and procedures; coordinate processes across departments; review and refine policies in collaboration with leadership.
- Assist with long-term strategic planning, budget development, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring fiscal accountability.
- Use analytics, predictive modeling, and market research to optimize student recruitment, aid allocation, and retention, and present data-driven reports.
- Collaborate with faculty, administration, and marketing to improve the student experience and retention; stay aware of external/internal landscape.
- Represent the area in events, communications, and as needed as a designee for supervisor (Vice President/Provost).
- Ensure compliance with regulations and communicate policies to staff and the public.
- Support staff development and training for new hires; provide guidance to student workers as needed.
- Remain informed of current developments; attend meetings, conferences, and events.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field; at least seven years of related experience; at least four years of supervisory experience.
- Knowledge: University policies and procedures; office practices; budgeting; records management; project management; supervisory principles; long-term/strategic planning.
- Skills: Use of office equipment; typing; computer operation; software relevant to the department.
- Abilities: Solve problems with multiple variables; gather data; communicate effectively; travel to work sites; conduct interviews; work independently and in a team; develop and maintain relationships; apply laws/regulations relevant to the role.
Nice to Have
- A master's degree or higher in higher education administration or business administration.
