• We are looking for an Associate to join a civil litigation practice in Bloomington, Illinois. This role is suited for a licensed attorney who can manage litigation tasks with sound judgment, strong writing ability, and confidence in case development. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to active matters through courtroom preparation, motion practice, and deposition-related work.

Responsibilities

• • Support civil litigation matters from initial case assessment through resolution, ensuring deadlines and filings are handled accurately.

• • Prepare motions, supporting briefs, and other litigation documents with clear legal analysis and persuasive written advocacy.

• • Take part in depositions by developing outlines, reviewing key records, and assisting with witness preparation and follow-up strategy.

• • Conduct legal research and apply relevant statutes, case law, and procedural rules to strengthen case positions.

• • Collaborate with attorneys, clients, and internal teams to develop case strategy and maintain progress across active matters.

• • Assist with discovery planning, document review, and drafting responses in accordance with litigation requirements.

• • Prepare for hearings, conferences, and trial-related proceedings by organizing materials and identifying key legal issues.

• Licensed attorney in good standing with the ability to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction.

• Demonstrated experience handling civil litigation matters in a law firm or comparable legal environment.

• Proven ability to draft motions and related court filings with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

• Experience participating in or supporting depositions, including preparation and follow-up work.

• Strong legal research, analytical thinking, and written communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize effectively, and meet court and client deadlines.
