Job title: Associate Registrar
About the Role The Associate Registrar partners with the Registrar and staff to plan and direct activities, develop policies and long-term goals for the Office of the Registrar, and ensure compliance with university policies for faculty, staff, students, parents, and the public.
What You'll Do
- Recommend and participate in the development, implementation and changes to university policies, processes and procedures regarding student records, and ensure changes are communicated to the University community.
- Interpret and enforce academic rules and regulations.
- Provide ad hoc and annual reporting to analyze trends, course and student enrollment and changes as needed.
- Assure the accuracy and security of student information by developing procedures for maintaining student records in accordance with FERPA and conducting data discrepancy reviews and resolving errors on student records related to course registration, grades, or appeals.
- Maintain current knowledge of Veterans Education benefits, VA regulations, and institutional policies; certify enrollment, report enrollment changes within VA guidelines, and coordinate with Financial Aid/Bursar on affected student accounts; inform the State Approving Agency of new programs and obtain approvals.
- Verify student enrollment and degree enrollment data; assist with third-party verifications and enrollment verification forms for lenders, financial aid, and scholarships.
- Train authorized university staff on identifying, evaluating, and reconciling student data conflicts in the Registration module.
- Represent the Office of the Registrar on committees and projects as a subject-matter expert.
- Supervise up to 3 Student Services Coordinators at multiple locations and may supervise student workers.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Registrar’s Office experience preferred in class scheduling, project management, or similar role in higher education.
- Proficiency with Banner highly recommended; proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
- Excellent critical thinking, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge and practice of essential student records protocol, including FERPA regulations and AACRAO guidelines (preferred).
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to interpret and enforce policies and communicate with diverse audiences.
- Knowledge or willingness to learn SQL is helpful.

- Experience with veteran education benefits and VA regulations is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $65,000-$70,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
