Job title: Associate Professor of Public Health

About the Role The Public Health Department within Liberty University's School of Health Sciences invites applications for an Associate Professor in Public Health beginning in Fall 2027. The successful candidate will teach across the BS, MPH, MSPH, and DrPH curricula and contribute to the continued growth of the Department's residential, undergraduate and graduate programs, in alignment with the University's mission and Christian worldview.

What You'll Do

  • Teach across BS, MPH, MSPH, and DrPH programs and maintain integrity of course and instructional programs
  • Deliver instruction in alignment with Liberty University's mission and student experience; foster a respectful academic atmosphere
  • Aid in curriculum development for residential and distance education environments; engage in research or creative activity
  • Engage in service to students and professional discipline; mentor undergraduate and graduate students; participate in assessment and program growth as needed

What We're Looking For

  • Master’s degree in public health or closely related field
  • PhD in Public Health or DrPH required
  • Demonstrated expertise in teaching epidemiology, biostatistics, chronic disease, population health, leadership, public health practice, or related areas
  • Experience teaching introductory and upper-level courses and mentoring students in research
  • Advanced training beyond PhD (e.g., postdoc, industry) preferred
  • Experience with curriculum development, assessment, accreditation, or continuous quality improvement preferred
  • Strong collaborative skills; ability to work collegially; willingness to teach in one or more DrPH emphasis areas: Maternal and Child Health; Public Health Practice; or Health Policy, Leadership, and Management
  • Commitment to evangelical standards and Liberty University's mission

Nice to Have

  • Postdoc or industry experience; curriculum development; accreditation experience as noted

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $82,300 - $98,000 per year
