About the Role Stanley Black & Decker is seeking an Associate Product Design Engineer for Tool & Automation Engineering in Toyohashi, Japan. The role focuses on designing and developing tooling and automation solutions to support manufacturing, assembly, and product quality.
What You'll Do
- Design and develop mechanical/electrical tooling and automation concepts using CAD software.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Manufacturing, Quality) to translate requirements into design specifications.
- Build and test prototypes, validate designs, and iterate based on results.
- Support design for manufacturing and reliability through GD&T, tolerances, and documentation.
- Create and maintain design history, bill of materials, and technical specifications.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo) and engineering drawing practices.
- Understanding of design for manufacturability, tolerancing, and prototyping.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
