About the Role As the Associate Pricing Director for the Academic division, you will drive revenue growth by leading pricing strategy development, automation, and cross-functional alignment across subscription journals, transformative agreements, eBooks, and Open Books. This role demands a strategic thinker who leverages value-based pricing, future-oriented business models, and AI-driven approaches to accelerate delivery.
What You'll Do
- Lead strategic pricing engagements including annual updates, new propositions, packaging strategies, and new business models.
- Own and deliver the end-to-end implementation of pricing strategies with operational excellence.
- Lead and communicate change, engaging stakeholders at all levels to drive collaboration and alignment.
- Define and track key pricing metrics for the Academic Division with automated data-driven insights.
- Oversee the Strategic Pricing Analytics Manager via a dotted-line relationship to deliver Academic and Open Access pricing deliverables.
- Identify risks and develop contingency plans; drive alignment across Editorial, Commercial, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration and executive visibility through regular status updates.

- Analytical mastery: strong SQL, Python, and R skills; data visualization with Tableau and Power BI.
- AI and automation first: demonstrated bias towards advanced AI tools to optimise pricing and decision-making.

- Global mindset: experience navigating international markets and global pricing challenges.
