Overview
The PD/Prod Associate supports the development and production of the seasonal line from conception to delivery. They work cross-functionally and are key partners to Designers, Merchants, Technical Designers, and the Regional Office in developing product to realize the global vision. They will support the PD/Prod Manager to ensure that all designs meet the margin goal objectives and are in alignment with the category sourcing strategy.
Responsibilities
- Work effectively as a member of a cross functional team (Design, Merchant, Tech and Planners) by focusing objectives and communicating clearly.
- Responsible for ensuring that all milestone dates outlined in the development calendar are met.
- Manage data on PLM line sheets and reporting tools to ensure integrity and accuracy of all product information.
- Participate in the Material Strategy meetings to ensure that all fabric selections meet the target cost parameters.
- Reserve and track Proto/Salesmen yardage, handlooms, lab dips, strike-offs with assistance of Regional Office partner and communicate the comments to suppliers.
- Ensure products are designed to cost and help to find alternative material options, as necessary to meet targets.
- Work with the team to determine pre-allocation on product category.
- Attend Design Handoff meetings with Designers and Technical Designers to determine prototype needs and ensure that all initial Bill of Materials (BOM) are complete with all material components required for sample development.
- Monitor key calendar deadlines to ensure timeliness of deliverables are met and troubleshoot all problems/issues that arise to ensure no interference or delay.
- Tracking and log in all samples as they arrive in NY office.
- Attend weekly garment fittings and communicate any changes as needed to suppliers, Costing team and Regional office partner.
- Responsible for the completion of the Bill of Materials (BOM) for all phases of development and bulk production by working closely with Materials team, Designer and Technical Designer to ensure accuracy of all material components.
- Daily correspondence with Regional Office and all suppliers.
- Support the collection and approval of fabric bulk standards and distribution to Regional office partners post product adoption.
- Ensure individual calendar deadlines are met and participates in milestone meetings, as appropriate.
- Maintain pre-production and production calendar deadlines.
- Counter source and provide options to Designer and Merchant team where necessary to ensure global margin goals are attainable for production execution.
Qualifications

Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Knowledge of Flex PLM system.

Technical understanding of fabrics and garment manufacturing process.

Minimum Educational Level/EXPERIENCE

Education: Minimum Associates Degree

Experience: Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in product development or production
