About the Role The Associate will join Squire Patton Boggs' Insurance Regulatory and Compliance practice within the Global Financial Services Practice Group. The role may be located in any US office and involves providing regulatory, transactional, and compliance services to insurance industry clients. What You'll Do
- Provide high-quality legal services to insurance industry clients including complex commercial and corporate transactions, responses to regulatory inquiries, regulatory reporting, and day-to-day regulatory compliance.
- Advise on state and federal insurance laws, rules, and regulatory developments; assist with filings and approvals, holding company compliance, formation and licensure of insurers, and entry into new jurisdictions and markets.
- Structure and advise on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions involving insurance companies and related entities.
- Counsel on development of compliance programs, internal controls, risk mitigation strategies, and ongoing regulatory compliance; assist with regulatory interactions, market conduct and financial examinations, and administrative proceedings. What We're Looking For
- JD from an accredited law school with a strong academic record; admitted to practice in the State Bar of the Associate's primary office (state to be determined).
- Three to five years of relevant insurance regulatory and compliance experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, sound judgement, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and strong client-relations capabilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail; motivated, organized, self-starter. Nice to Have
- Increased client contact and ability to perform independently with less supervision from senior attorneys.
- Strong client-relationship skills and ability to manage multiple matters.
