About the Role Squire Patton Boggs (US) LLP seeks an Associate to join our Insurance Regulatory and Compliance team within the Global Financial Services Practice Group. The position can be located in any U.S. office and will focus on regulatory filings, compliance programs, and transactional matters for insurance clients. This role offers exposure to complex regulatory issues across the insurance industry. What You'll Do
- Provide a full range of high-quality legal services to insurance industry clients, including complex commercial and corporate transactions, responses to regulatory inquiries, regulatory reporting, and day-to-day regulatory compliance.
- Develop and apply working knowledge of state and federal insurance laws, rules and regulations; assist with regulatory interactions, market conduct examinations, and administrative proceedings.
- Support clients in forming and licensing insurers, insurer holding company compliance, and entry into new jurisdictions; contribute to transaction structuring and regulatory analyses.
- Build and maintain client relationships; work both independently and with senior attorneys; ensure tasks are completed with meticulous attention to detail. What We're Looking For
- JD from an accredited law school with a strong academic record; admitted to practice law in the State Bar of the relevant jurisdiction.
- Three to five years of relevant experience in insurance regulatory and/or transactional matters.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; sound judgement.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively; increased client contact; ability to perform with less supervision.
- Excellent client-relationship skills; motivated, organized, self-starter; strong attention to detail.
