About the Role Segal McCambridge, a national litigation firm, is seeking associates for its insurance practice group in Austin to defend first-party claims brought against large national insurance carriers. The role offers associates the freedom and responsibility to manage their own case assignments with mentoring from senior attorneys, handling a range of insurance coverage matters.
What You'll Do
- Manage own case assignments and handle all aspects of litigation for assigned files, with mentoring from senior team members.
- Defend claims under personal and commercial lines of insurance, including residential property, commercial property, uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage, and other commercial coverages.
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, written discovery, take depositions, and manage all facets of the litigation process.
- Multitask and manage deadlines while maintaining client service and collaboration with the team.
What We're Looking For
- Current, active license to practice law in Texas.
- Excellent legal-research, writing, and advocacy skills.
- Experience drafting pleadings, motion practice, written discovery, depositions, and other facets of the litigation process.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to produce top quality work.
- A willingness to be proactive and take ownership of projects and assignments.
