About the Role The Associate will join Squire Patton Boggs' Insurance Regulatory and Compliance practice within the Global Financial Services Practice Group, providing regulatory and transactional support to insurance clients. The position can be located in any US office, offering exposure to complex regulatory matters and strategic transactions in the insurance industry. What You'll Do
- Provide a full range of high-quality legal services to insurance industry clients, including complex commercial and corporate transactions, responses to regulatory inquiries, regulatory reporting, and day-to-day regulatory compliance.
- Advise on regulatory filings and approvals, insurance holding company compliance, formation and licensure of insurers, and entry into new jurisdictions and markets.
- Analyze state and federal insurance laws, provide counsel on financial reporting and oversight, and support day-to-day regulatory compliance.
- Engage with regulatory interactions, including responding to insurance department inquiries, assisting with market conduct and financial examinations, and supporting clients in administrative proceedings.
- Contribute to structuring and advising on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions involving insurance companies and related businesses.
- Develop deep regulatory expertise while working on complex matters for sophisticated clients across the insurance industry. What We're Looking For
- JD from an accredited law school with a strong academic record
- Admitted to practice law in the State Bar
- Three to five years of relevant experience
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively on complex matters
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and sound judgement
- Ability to increase client contact and perform independently with less supervision from senior attorneys
- Excellent client-relationship skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Motivated, organized, self-starter
