Associate Director, Quality Control

About the Role Lead and operate QC landscape at the Moderna Laval site to ensure quality, compliance and availability of innovative medicines; you will provide strategic and operational leadership for QC activities supporting commercial manufacturing, product lifecycle management, lab operations and management of external partners. What You'll Do

• Provide strategic and operational leadership of QC activities supporting commercial manufacturing, lifecycle management, laboratory operations and oversight of external partners.
• Lead the setup and operational readiness of QC laboratories supporting API and finished product testing, including the implementation of laboratory systems, method transfers, qualification activities and establishment of compliant operations.
• Oversee analytical testing, microbiology, environmental monitoring, critical utilities monitoring, stability programs and release activities, ensuring operational excellence in internal labs and external networks of manufacturing and testing.
• Drive digital transformation in QC through laboratory automation, advanced analytics and generative AI tools to strengthen performance, data integrity, decision-making and continuous improvement of quality operations.
• Collaborate with global teams and manage relationships with external contract manufacturers and testing networks to ensure supply quality and compliance.
• Build and lead a world-class QC organization at the Laval site by attracting, developing and retaining top talent, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. What We're Looking For
• Proven experience leading strategic and operational QC activities in a pharmaceutical/biotech manufacturing environment.
• Deep knowledge of analytical testing, microbiology, environmental monitoring, utilities monitoring, stability programs and release.
• Experience implementing laboratory systems, method transfers, qualification/validation and establishing compliant operations.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration, project management and external partner management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement, maintain data integrity and operate in a highly innovative environment leveraging digital technologies. Nice to Have
• Experience applying lab automation, advanced analytics and generative AI tools to QC operations.
• Experience working with external networks of contract manufacturing and testing.
