About the Role This role is a critical hire at Illumina to enable the transformation of our Enterprise Pricing and Financing function. The Associate Director will define enterprise-wide pricing strategies, influence senior stakeholders, and drive initiatives that shape Illumina’s commercial future. What You'll Do
- Enable Pricing Excellence and Evolution: Lead initiatives that bring the pricing vision to life across global markets, articulate and present pricing recommendations within a highly cross-functional, matrixed organization, and drive change management efforts including developing training materials and leading internal workshops for key stakeholders.
- Strategy & Analytics: Build pricing frameworks, models, and dashboards to inform decisions and optimize revenue; analyze global markets to understand value propositions, competitive positioning, and desirable product attributes; implement advanced customer segmentation and personalized pricing strategies; establish KPIs and monitor post-implementation results; develop and maintain pricing tools; understand the business case and P&L implications.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with Marketing, Finance, Sales, and Operations to align pricing strategies with business objectives and pricing execution; contribute to NPIs pricing process; collaborate with marketing to leverage competitive intelligence; champion pricing governance with approval workflows, compliance monitoring, and documentation to ensure audit readiness and policy adherence. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of experience in Pricing, Finance Business Partnering, Marketing, or Commercial Ops., or equivalent combination; 7+ years of management experience; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to tie detailed analysis to overarching strategies; experience engaging cross-functionally to drive large programs; initiative, problem-solving, and ownership mindset.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels across a matrixed organization, including Executive Level; passion for genomics and improving human health; willingness to travel up to 20%. Nice to Have
- MBA or advanced degree preferred; Pricing or Six Sigma training/certification is a plus. Compensation & Benefits
- The estimated base salary range is USD $170,600 - $255,800.
- Eligible for one of Illumina’s variable cash programs (bonus or commission); eligible roles may receive equity as part of the package.
