Job title: Associate Director of Clinical Operations, Student Health Services
About the Role The Associate Director of Clinical Operations at Student Health Services oversees clinical administration and daily operations. They provide advanced clinical oversight, direct patient care, and ensure services meet best practice standards, ethics, and regulatory requirements, while fostering a welcoming, student-centered environment.
What You'll Do
- Assist the Director in operational workflows and administrative logistics of Student Health Services; oversee Medicat user management and data management; collaborate with CIT on features like e-prescribing, online scheduling, and appointment reminders.
- Provide advanced clinical oversight and direct patient care; perform comprehensive health assessments; diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions; order and interpret diagnostic tests; prescribe medications per Ohio APRN licensure.
- Maintain an independent or collaborative clinical caseload; document encounters in the EHR; educate students; advise on policies in compliance with FERPA/HIPAA.
- Lead case management: coordinate care for students with complex medical and behavioral health needs; develop individualized care plans; liaise with off-campus providers; support medical withdrawal and return-to-campus planning.
- Health Promotion and Campus Outreach: collaborate with Health Promotion; plan campus-wide events; deliver educational sessions; develop materials; represent Health & Wellbeing at orientation and wellness weeks; coordinate outreaches.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: collaborate with physicians, NPs, PAs, mental health clinicians; provide clinical consultation; participate in case conferences; support emergency response from clinical leadership.
What We're Looking For
- Licensed advanced practice clinician (APRN) with prescriptive authority in Ohio; ability to diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions; perform comprehensive health assessments and order tests.
- Experience in coordinating care, crisis response leadership, and working with campus partners; strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with EHR systems (Medicat) and data management; knowledge of FERPA and HIPAA compliance.
- Ability to work in a university health setting and lead clinical teams.
- Commitment to student-centered care, health promotion, and prevention.
Nice to Have
- Experience with crisis liaison services or emergency response leadership; experience with Medicat or similar EHR; experience in campus health events and health promotion programs.
- Training in public health surveillance and quality improvement.
