Associate Director – Insurance

About the Role

Fitch Ratings is seeking an Associate Director to provide credit analysis for the North American Insurance Group, focusing on US Life Insurance entities. The role entails lead coverage of a portfolio of life insurers, monitoring financial results and company news, and presenting rating recommendations to internal committees and external parties. You’ll also contribute to industry research and interact with insurers’ senior management and investors. What You'll Do

• Lead coverage on a portfolio of life insurance companies

• Interact with management of life insurance companies

• Prepare and present rating committee packages

• Participate in rating committees

• Author company research and commentary

• Contribute to insurance industry research

• Participate in analytical projects utilizing industry financial data sources

• Back-up coverage on selected insurance companies

• Maintain files in accordance with company policies What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree

• 5-7 years of relevant experience in life insurance analysis or in a strategic planning, financial management or actuarial position within the insurance industry

• CFA/MBA/CPA or actuarial designations a plus, but not a requirement

• Self-motivated professional

• Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to shift fluidly between multiple projects as priorities change

• Ability to excel in a team-oriented environment

• Expertise in Excel and Word Nice to Have

• Actuarial designation or CFA/MBA/CPA (preferred) Compensation & Benefits
