About the Role The Associate Director of the Clinical Simulation Laboratory supports all simulation and clinical learning laboratory experiences in collaboration with faculty and staff to manage and supervise the clinical operations in the School of Nursing Department's Clinical Simulation Center. This role ensures safe, effective, and well-organized simulation experiences and oversees daily lab operations while contributing to program planning and outcomes in partnership with instructors and learners.
What You'll Do
- Manage daily activities and services of the Bronx Clinical Simulation Lab, including scheduling and conducting clinical simulations, lab setup and breakdown, and management of lab equipment and supplies.
- Support planning and utilization of skills and simulation in the Nursing program.
- Assist instructors and students in a clinical lab setting; ensure the lab/classroom is clean, safe, and organized; promote safe lab practices.
- Repair or coordinate repair of lab equipment as required.
- Collaborate with faculty to ensure the Center’s experiences meet course objectives; provide oversight during student practice and remediation on technical skills.
- Maintain, coordinate, and monitor open lab sessions; operate the patient simulator during simulation sessions; participate in debriefing sessions with instructors.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new lab materials, equipment, and experiments; implement simulation activities as required.
- Establish and update laboratory policies and procedures; assist in preparation and maintenance of records; assist in preparing reports for nursing learning lab.
- Stay current with developments in simulation technology and learning theories; plan, monitor, and schedule for students and faculty by ensuring open and structured lab utilization times are available and resourced.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- NYS Registered Nurse License.
- Clinical Simulation Certification (CHSOS/CHSE).
- Experience managing a medical skills learning lab.
- Recent medical-surgical experience.
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices used in lab/classroom settings.
- Experience using Artificial Intelligence in simulation.
- Education: Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution.
- Physical requirements: Ability to push, pull, move, or lift up to 50 lbs; ability to meet general health requirements per university policies.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 annually.
