Associate Director, Alliance Management

About the Role The Alliance Management function is a key part of Novartis' Corporate & Business Development (C&BD) organization, focused on finding, assessing, and successfully managing partnering opportunities, while positioning Novartis as the preferred partner. The Associate Director, Alliance Management will drive business value and mitigate risk by supporting management of complex Chinese alliances and proactively overseeing a portfolio of alliances that align with corporate and therapeutic area strategy, ensuring external, internal, and cross-functional alignment. This role will also help derive learnings and best practices for managing partnerships with Chinese partners across Therapeutic Areas. What You'll Do

• Proactively manage and ensure the smooth functioning of alliances in your portfolio, with emphasis on Chinese partners, working closely with external partners and internal teams.
• Support other Alliance Management team members locally during China-based alliance management, primarily for Chinese partner-facing activities.
• Manage contracts, governance, and relationships with partners throughout the alliance lifecycle (pre-signature, launch, implementation, termination).
• Serve as an internal and external liaison to ensure external/internal and cross-functional alignment and capture learnings and best practices across Therapeutic Areas for Chinese partnerships. What We're Looking For
• Experience in alliance management or managing complex partnerships, with focus on Chinese partnerships preferred.
• Ability to manage a portfolio of alliances and mitigate risk while delivering business value.
• Strong collaboration with cross-functional internal teams and external partners; excellent communication skills.
• Understanding of contract governance and lifecycle management; strategic and analytical thinking; ability to operate in a China market context. Nice to Have
• Experience working with Chinese partners across Therapeutic Areas.
