About the Role The Associate (Banking & Finance) at Aluko & Oyebode provides legal support and expertise to clients in the banking and finance sector. You will work closely with senior lawyers to handle complex matters, conduct research, and deliver high-quality legal solutions that align with regulatory requirements. What You'll Do
- Provide legal advice to clients on banking and finance issues with guidance from senior lawyers.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis on regulations, case law, and industry trends.
- Assist in due diligence to identify legal risks and compliance issues in financial transactions and contracts.
- Interact with clients to gather information, provide updates, and address queries.
- Prepare clear memoranda, reports, and correspondence communicating analysis and recommendations.
- Organize and maintain legal documents, contracts, and correspondence related to banking and finance transactions.
- Support senior team members in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating loan agreements, security documents, and other financial contracts.
- Contribute to business development efforts, including attending industry events, client pitches, and proposal preparation.
- Stay abreast of industry developments and regulatory changes; participate in knowledge-sharing and training.
- Ensure clients remain compliant with banking and finance laws and guidelines.
- Fulfill other duties as delegated. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB or JD).
- Strong understanding of banking and finance laws, regulations, and industry practices.
- Proven ability to conduct legal research and analysis.
- Experience in due diligence, contract drafting and negotiation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Client management and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to organize and manage documentation and collaborate with a team.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance in banking and finance.
- Proactive and capable of staying updated on industry developments.
